![]() ![]() Pastor and Mrs. Herman Davis Pastor Herman L. and Mrs. Dolores Davis have been married forty years. For almost all of their married life, Pastor and Mrs. Davis have been actively engaged in full-time ministry. They are proud the parents of two married adult children, Herman and Edrewnae. Herman is married to the former Danica Cook of Birmingham , Alabama . Their three children are Janelle, Jeremiah and James. Edrewnae is married to Arlan Hampton of Orlando , FL.
Mrs. Dolores Davis is a fourth generation Seventh-day Adventist. Her family boasts five Seventh-day Adventist ministers (her husband included), who have held major pulpits from Boston , Buffalo and New York in the northeast; to Charlotte , Tampa , and Miami in the South; to New Orleans in the southwest and to Chicago and Detroit in the Midwest .
Mrs. Davis is a professional in her own right. She holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Andrews University and a Master’s degree in School Administration from Nova University . She has been actively employed in education for thirty-nine years. She began her teaching career in the South Atlantic Conference. She later taught in Huntsville , Alabama ; Benton Harbor , Michigan ; Chicago , Illinois ; Tampa and Jacksonville , Florida and currently in Orlando , Florida where she has taught for the last fourteen years. She has been a peer teacher, grade chair, assistant principal and an elementary school principal. She has been voted Teacher of the Year twice here in Orange County .
In addition to her work as a teacher, Mrs. Davis is a Master Guide, mother and wife. As you get to know her, you will find Mrs. Davis to be a very sanguine person with a big smile and a warm zest for life. You may not see her up front very often, but be assured she is deeply involved in her highest calling, which is nurturing her family and especially her pastor husband. She feels this is more than enough to occupy the majority of her time and attention. However, she invites you to embrace her and to allow her to be your sister and your friend.
Pastor Herman L. Davis, Sr. is a native son of the south. He became a Seventh-day Adventist fifty-two years ago when he was baptized by the late H.L. Cleveland. Pastor Davis was schooled at his local church day academy and later at Oakwood College and Andrews University Theological Seminary.
Pastor Davis entered ministry under the tutelage of the late John Malcolm Phipps as an associate evangelist. His ministry with Pastor Phipps saw two new congregations established in Indianapolis , Indiana and Detroit , Michigan respectively. Subsequently, Pastor Davis joined the pastoral team of Pastor Samuel Flagg in Detroit , Michigan where his skills for local church administration and pastoral care were honed. He has since pastored in twenty-four different congregations.
Pastor Davis was ordained to the gospel ministry in July 1974. In the years that have passed, he has held nearly two dozen evangelistic crusades, baptized approximately 1300 souls and developed four new congregations here in the Southeastern Conference. Pastor Davis has also evangelized, preached, taught and baptized on six of the world’s seven continents.
Pastor Davis has an extensive ministerial vitae. He has served the Adventist church in numerous capacities that include:
· Executive Committee member in three local Conferences
· Southern Union Conference Executive Committee
· Oakwood College Board of Regents
· Oakwood College Executive Committee
· Adventist Health Systems Board Member
· General Conference Trust Services Accreditation and Certification Standards Committee
· General Conference Trust Services Education and Marketing Committees
· Southeastern K-12 Board of Education, and
· Southern Union Constitution and by-laws Committee, just to name a few.
Pastor Davis is a North American Division certified Stewardship Instructor and is certified by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Trust Services and Planned Giving. Nearly thirty of his forty year ministry has been in Evangelism and pastoral care and ten additional years were spent as a Conference Departmental Director.
Pastor Davis is first and foremost a husband, father and pastor. He is committed to making ministry effective among the people of God and he pledges to lead by example in living, learning and leading.

By way of Orlando, Tampa, Delray Beach… He and his 4 siblings (Jerry, Daniel, Sophia, and Mary Lyn) were raised by his parents Pastor Job and Maryse Fleurimond in a Spirit-filled Christian home, where love and Christianity flowed freely.
